Look around the Mill

The mill has four spacious, fully central heated, self contained apartments, each sleeping four people.  In total, the mill can accommodate 16 people.  For extra flexibility on sleeping arrangements (but not more than 16 people in total) 3 of the apartments will allow an extra bed or cot.

Godremamog Mill is built on a hill side.  The driveway is at the level of the mill's 1st floor.  The entrance porch is on a bridge spanning the leat.

At this level, you'll find Carders Corner and Spinners, which are opposite each other.  You have to go down one flight of stairs to reach Wheel House and the Bobbin Box, which both also have doors directly into the garden (Carders Corner and Spinners have doors out to stairways into the garden).   Each apartment has a seating area with chairs and a table right outside its door into the garden.

All of the apartments have been rated 4 star by Visit Wales (the Welsh Tourist Board).  Each apartment has its own bathroom, well equipped kitchen, cosy lounge/dining room and two bedrooms:

  • The lounge/dining room has a comfortable three-piece suite/sofa, a wood effect stove, a colour flat screen television and a video recorder/DVD player, a dining table and four dining chairs.  Free Internet connectivity can be provided on request.

  • The kitchen is fully equipped including a full sized oven, electric hob, microwave, slim-line dishwasher, fridge and separate freezer.

  • The bathroom is fully fitted with an electric shower over the bath.

  • There is a double bedroom with four poster bed and a twin room with two single beds.  All bedrooms have a double wardrobe.  The double bedroom has a DAB radio with IPOD dock.

Gardens surround the mill, with lawned areas to sit and picnic, a stone BBQ, a hot tub. a swim4spa (where you swim against a current - like a running machine for swimmers), a BBQ hut which sits 16 and lets you BBQ whatever the weather is doing, a butterfly garden, steps into the river to paddle and pergolas to watch the world go by.  The sounds of the rivers and birdsong is everywhere.  There is a Summer House to relax in with a library, stereo and CDs.

There is extensive woodland all around the mill.  There is a trail into the woods, with rustic seats and a bug pit for "mini-beast safaris".  There is a meadow next to the mill gardens which is cut for hay each year.  There is a walk along the river through this meadow which meets up with the woodland walk and has picnic benches by the water.  Footpaths run through the woods and up the river valleys to the open fields beyond.

You are welcome to go wherever you want in the mill's 13 acres of gardens,  woodland and meadows, except a couple of places such as next to the wheel which has been railed off for safety.  Children must be supervised, especially near the river, so we have fenced the garden near the wheel so that parents can relax.  Garden tables and chairs are provided in this peaceful riverside garden.  There is plenty of space to move them to your preferred picnic site.

You can tell your friends that you enjoyed a walk to the next county - you don't have to tell them that you only had to cross the bridge in the garden! (one side of the garden is in Pembrokeshire, the other side is in Carmarthenshire.

Heating: The apartments are centrally heated from September - June.  In addition, there is a wood effect electric stove in the lounge and an electric heater in the kitchen.  There is no extra charge made for electricity.

What to expect: Pillows and duvets, bed linen, indoor towels and tea towels, oven gloves, toilet roll to start you off, some kitchen roll and cleaning materials including dishwasher tablets are provided.  (Please note - you will have to bring your own beach towels).  You will also find tea, coffee, fruit tea, sugar and fresh semi-skimmed milk waiting for you when you arrive, to start your holiday with a refreshing drink.  For a holiday of more than a week, clean linen will be provided each week.

Young children: Children are very welcome at the mill and really enjoy splashing in the river (they must be supervised in the gardens).  A cot bed or 3/4 bed (for which linen will be provided) a high chair, booster chairs and potties are available - please discuss with Chris or Samantha when you book.

Pets: Guide dogs are welcome but we are sorry, we do not allow pets in the apartments.  There is a very good boarding kennels under 10 minutes walk from the mill, though this cannot be seen or heard from the mill - Mrs Askew can be contacted on 01239 698 650.

Laundry: An iron, ironing board and clothes horse are provided in each apartment.  A shared laundry facility is available, free of charge, with a washing machine, tumble drier, sink and drying room.

Parking: There is plenty of parking in the mill's car park at the top of the drive.  You can drive right up to the entrance to drop off your luggage and turn your car in the turning circle next to the mill.  Guests with limited mobility may be able to park in this turning circle - please discuss with Chris or Sam when you book.

Telephones: Mobile phones do not work in the valley but there is a pay phone in the hallway on the upper floor (one flight up from the mill entrance).  It accepts coins only (10p, 20p, 50p or £1).
