There are four spacious, fully
central heated, self contained apartments available within Godremamog
mill. The accommodation shown is for adults in permanent beds.
In total, the mill can easily accommodate 15 adults. In addition, a
cot/bed or 3/4 bed or inflatable bed can also be added, on top of the
adult accommodation in each apartment. Bobbin Box also has a
double bed settee in the lounge:
The mill is on a
hill side. From the driveway, you walk across a bridge and into
the mill at 1st floor level. This means that there are no stairs
to climb to enter Carders Corner or Spinners. You have
to go down one flight of stairs to reach the Wheel house and the Bobbin Box.
Wheel house is not suitable for guests with limited mobility. Bobbin Box can also be entered directly
from the garden. Click here for details of
accessibility.
All of the apartments have been rated 4 star by
Visit Wales (the
Welsh Tourist Board). Each apartment has
its own bathroom, kitchen, lounge/dining room and two bedrooms:
-
The lounge/dining
room has a comfortable three-piece suite, a wood effect stove, a colour
television and a video recorder/DVD player, a dining table and four
dining chairs.
-
The kitchen is
fully equipped including a full sized oven, electric hob, microwave,
slim-line dishwasher and
fridge with a small freezing compartment.
-
The bathroom is fully fitted with
an electric shower over the bath.
-
There is a
double bedroom with four poster bed and a twin room with two single
beds, except for the
Bobbin Box which has only one single
bed in that second bedroom. All bedrooms have a double wardrobe.
Heating: The apartments are
centrally heated from September - June. In addition, there is a
wood effect electric stove in the lounge and an electric heater in the
kitchen. There is no extra charge made for electricity.
What to expect:
Pillows and duvets, bed linen,
towels and tea towels, oven gloves, toilet roll, kitchen roll and
cleaning materials are provided. (Please note - you will have to
bring your own beach towels). You will also find tea, coffee,
sugar and fresh semi-skimmed milk waiting for you when you arrive, to start your
holiday with a refreshing drink. For a holiday of more than a
week, clean linen will be provided and your apartment will be cleaned
throughout.
Young children:
Children are very welcome at the mill and really enjoy splashing in the
river (they must be supervised in the gardens). A cot bed or 3/4
bed are available on request, for which linen will be provided - please
discuss with Chris or Sam when you book. A high chair is also
available on request.
Pets:
We are so sorry, we do not allow pets in the apartments, although guide
dogs are welcomed. There is a very good boarding kennels under 10
minutes walk from the mill, though this cannot be seen or heard from the
mill itself. Mrs Askew can be contacted on 01239 698 650.
Laundry: An iron, ironing
board and clothes horse are provided in each apartment. A shared
laundry facility is available, free of charge, with a washing machine
and tumble drier.
Gardens:
Guests are welcome to go wherever they wish in the mill's 9 acres of
gardens and woodland, except a small area of vegetable garden where
terraces make it unsafe (this area is gated). Children should be supervised, especially
near the river. Garden tables and chairs are provided in the
peaceful riverside garden. There is plenty of space to move them to your preferred
picnic site, perhaps next to the river, close to the waterwheel or in
the butterfly garden. Sun beds are available. A barbeque is
also available for guests to use.
Parking: There is plenty of
parking in the mill's car park at the top of the drive. You can drive
right up to the entrance to drop off your luggage and turn your car in
the turning circle next to the mill. Guests with limited mobility
may be able to park in this turning circle - please discuss with Chris
or Sam when you book.
Telephones: Mobile phones do
not work in the valley but there is a pay phone in the hallway on the
upper floor (one flight up from the mill entrance). It accepts coins
only (10p, 20p, 50p or £1).
