Up Bobbin Box Carders Corner Spinners Wheel House Look Outside Accessibility Belinda R. April 2012: It was lovely being able to see and hear the river from the windows. The setting was so beautiful - tumbling rivers, little bridges, riverside walks, flowering woodland and peace and quiet!.....In the extensive landscaped grounds, in addition to the working water wheel was not only a cosy Summerhouse but also a Scandinavian BBQ hut complete with reindeer fur lined seats and two very relaxing bubbly hot tubs - one being integral with a swim spa, which was great fun, especially at night with colour changing lights! We will be making a return visit!

Look around Godremamog

Video

Godremamog Mill is a very peaceful place.  It nestles in a steep sided wooded valley.  The River Cych flows past, just feet from your apartment windows.  You cannot see another house from the mill.  Very few cars use the single-track road, which runs through the trees on the far side of the river.  Birdsong fills the valley, where little else is heard, apart from the rushing waters of the river.

You can BBQ, whatever the weather, in the cosy BBQ hut - it seats 16 people.  There is an outside BBQ too, for those balmy summer evenings.

You can swim all year round in the Swim4Spa - you swim against a current, like a running machine for swimmers, with non of that tedious turning around.  The far end is a hot tub for relaxing afterwards.

There is another hot tub too, right next to the river.  It's the perfect place to relax and let your stress just float away.  It's quite a sight at night, with the garden lit up and a spotlight on the wheel as it gently turns.

The wheel garden is fenced off all round, with gates which can be closed to keep young children near at hand.   If you're not into getting wet, you can still relax in the wheel garden on one of the benches, just soaking up the atmosphere and watching the river go by.  Fish jump, bird sing, the wagtails perform aerial acrobatics, buzzards soar high above and there's always the chance of seeing a king fisher.

Every season brings its pleasures - snow drops in January, daffodils in March, bluebells along the lane and rhododendrons right through the spring, a summer garden full of flowers and the colours in the woods in Autumn.

There are gardens right around the mill.  We have built stone steps down to the water so that it's easy to get down and paddle in the water.   Some children would play there all day - fishing for tiddlers and skipping stones.  You can watch the larger trout under the bridge and, in late autumn, look for sea-trout and salmon coming up the river to spawn.  We have even seen otters playing there.

It's very difficult to describe the tranquillity of the mill - you have to feel it for your self.  If three cars go by in one hour, we think it's the rush hour!  You can still see the milky way on clear nights.  The two rivers which meet at the mill make a very special atmosphere - there was a baptistry here in days gone-by.

Woods surround the mill and the valley sides are steep, so we have created steps up the valley sides, with benches to sit and look down across the whole valley.  This leads to the woodland trail with places to stop and meditate and a bug pit for mini-beast safaris.  It's amazing to get right in amongst the trees.   We have 13 acres for you to explore.

The meadow which runs along the river from the mill gardens to Park Villa is cut for hay each year.  There is a walk along the river with picnic benches next to the water.  It links up with the woodland trail so that you can walk out along the river and back through the trees.

Between the woodland trail and the riverside walk there is a beautiful woodland footpath which is a handy way to get from the mill to Park Villa (less than 5 minutes walk).
